About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic communications and marketing professional to join the Group as Head of Brand and Communications. You will lead and manage all marketing and communications activity for the Group. The role will focus on brand management and protecting and promoting the reputation of Gentoo in line with the Group’s strategic aims and marketing plan.

As part of the Group’s senior management team, you will:

• Lead and manage the Communications Team, giving them the opportunities to be their best and fulfil their potential.
• Provide strategic marketing and communications advice and guidance across the business.
• Ensure brand consistency across all marketing and communications platforms through the use of brand guidelines and a Gentoo tone of voice.
• Develop the internal communications channels and messages to secure organisational buy-in to our vision, strategy and culture, increasing levels of staff engagement.
• Lead on all key reputational issues, working closely with the Group Executive Team and Chair.
• Manage the marketing and communications budget ensuring return on investment and value for money in all activity.
• Ensure high quality customer service is delivered effectively, efficiently and consistently.
• Develop and maintain relationships with all key internal and external stakeholders, including the Gentoo Executive Team, Board, relevant bodies and partners, networking effectively to exert influence in support of the Group’s objectives.

You will be educated to degree level or hold equivalent demonstrable experience at a similar level. You will hold a relevant professional qualification in PR, communications or marketing. With a professional and confidential approach, you will have the ability to identify risks and appropriate solutions, along with excellent communication skills and strong copy writing skills. Having operated at a similar level in a similar sized organisation, you will have the ability to think strategically and lead and develop a team to deliver a best in class service to the Group.
